trenton99 The first time I ever heard Parasite I was instantly transfixed. This mini album/ep is a magnificent debut and will in due course be remembered fondly. A highly original and primal sound. Tesla Coils will live on with the Emergence of the Cosmic Monolith... Favorite track: Parasite.

about

Jed A. Wølters - vocals & synthesizers
Chris Dennis - Drums

This 2016 release was our introduction to the world. I had spent a couple of years refining these mixes, scrapping lyrics and re-doing synths, cutting and pasting sections and trying to improve my singing. All tracked in my bedroom, except the drums on "Eyes" which Chris Dennis performed on a last-minute tracking session at Lovestreet Studios in Currumbin, QLD.

Whist the mixes could be improved, the singing is quite primitive and there are some unusual audio artifacts present, this EP is an exemplary representation of who I was at the time, what I was trying to present to the world, and that proactive sense of just getting to work and finishing stuff, regardless of the result.

The exposure of this EP, along with the corresponding visual elements shared on YouTube, helped spread our name around the community and opened up new live show opportunities and support from local street press. So I guess it's pretty important to us, even though we've retired most of this preliminary material. However, these songs aren't dead. They have a life of their own. At the risk of sounding like George Lucas, you never know when they'll emerge again.
