Creature 03:31
I don't want a girl, I want a creature I don't want a girl, I want a creature Just wait until the dark of night and she'll be rapping at my window Don't want a girl I want a creature I don't want loving hands, I want talons I don't want loving hands, I want talons Don't want no soft skin caressing me I want some grotesque claws I want some talons, I want some talons I don't want no pretty face I want, mutilation I don't want no pretty face I want, mutilation Something that hasn't seen the light of day Rotting in the back of a cave I want mutilation Gimme a creature, never a girl

about

Watch the film clip here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QgKaQ-80m8&feature=youtu.be

Creature was the result of sticking a monosynth instrument on Garageband through a guitar amp plugin, and just playing the black notes on the keyboard. Back then I was listening to a lot of Gary Numan and The Dead Weather - I loved how they blended electronic instruments with rock-style drums and bass guitar. The drums sound like pus - that's actually me playing them on my own childhood drum kit. The guy who was supposed to mix this track for me kind of disappeared so I just mixed it myself without any real knowledge of what I was doing. By this time we had made the film clip which was probably the nicest looking film clip we've ever made but also the most schlockiest. Nevertheless it was fun to stage a laser gun battle with cloak-wearing zombies. That's actually @manda_at_arms (currently an awesome larper) in the beast costume she designed herself. Also that's Jay Jermyn (of @veople) in the gas mask. Anyway, "Creature" is kind of a sonic mess, but it was an important mess to me at the time.
